Local Resident

Alice Springs · NT

Breda at Uluru

Hi, I’m Breda Knightly, a Registered Marriage Celebrant. I have called the beautiful red earth of Alice Springs home for the past 3 years, and also lived here for 3 years previously. I am originally Irish, but have been in Australia since 1997. Alice Springs is the only place I have ever come back to to live.
Please get in touch if you would like to chat about a ceremony you wish to hold.
It is my privilege to craft ceremonies alongside those I hold space for, to honour life’s milestones such as weddings, funerals, vow renewals, naming ceremonies or big life rites of passage such as menopause — or any moment you wish to commemorate.
With a calm, relaxed, and chilled nature, I’ll make sure your ceremony feels completely yours — personal, meaningful, and stress-free.
Contact me and let’s chat about your ceremony!

Distinguished and Famous people from Pearcedale

🌿 Michael Johnson

Michael Johnson turned a childhood interest in wildlife into Moonlit Sanctuary at Pearcedale. After conservation training at the Durrell organisation in Jersey, his family developed a former farm and pony-club property with native planting, wetlands and animal facilities. The park opened in 2001, initially offering night tours that introduced visitors to nocturnal species. Conservation and breeding work became part of the continuing enterprise. The local story has a clear practical sequence: an idea, specialist preparation, a property and years of building an organisation capable of caring for animals while helping the public understand them.

🏉 Ryan Bastinac

Ryan Bastinac brought senior AFL experience to Pearcedale after playing for North Melbourne and Brisbane. He appeared in Pearcedale’s side during the 2023 season. His later return to Aspley in Queensland illustrates how football careers can continue across several competitions after the national league. For a community club, that movement brings players with experience of different coaching systems and levels of competition. Pearcedale formed one of those later working environments, where professional experience returned to a local-ground setting.
